Parking Information – There’s ample parking on the streets around Bangalow. We’ll also have limited parking at the Showgrounds for $5, but get there early! Look for the BBQ & Bluegrass signs! And while you’re visiting, be sure to take a walk through town. You’ll love it here.
Bangalow is about 15mins drive in-land from Byron Bay. We are in the heart of the hinterland country community. It has a rare authentic old country town feel, but with a rich and modern array of cafes and boutique shops. The historic Showgrounds and A&I Hall are really one of the most beautiful community grounds you’ll ever see. They’re perfect for an outdoor Festival!
Bangalow is on the Pacific Highway between Brisbane and Sydney. We’re about 2hrs south from Brisbane and about 45mins from the Tweed. Coming up from the South, we are about 20mins from Ballina and 3hrs north of Coffs Harbour. You can also come west from Casino via Lismore on the Bruxner Hwy and the old Bangalow Road.
There’s lots of accommodation in the area, so make a weekend of it!
There’s lots of Camp Sites in the area, too. Check out this guide to Where to Camp in the Byron Shire. Most sites a 10-15min drive to Bangalow.
As rich and blessed with artistic talent as this region is, Bangalow and the hinterland are often forgotten when it comes to arts and cultural initiatives. There are too few chances to showcase the best music and arts this area has to offer. So this festival is dedicated to the great local food and produce of this agricultural region along with the high quality musicianship so common of the artists who call the Northern Rivers home.
Arts in Schools – We’re passionate about supporting additional arts funding in our local schools. Our region has some of the lowest in-class teacher resource budgets in the country. All the local schools will be well represented at our Festival with Kids Games Stands to raise money for arts programs in their schools. This is a great family fun day out.
